EC directive RoHS 2002/95/EC and WEEE 2002/96/EC

HAKAMA as manufacturer of semi-finished products and single components from sheet metal is on customers order working at this new legal decree. Relevant product analysis have been conducted on the premises. Excluded from this are all component and subassemblies delivered by customers.
 

Our sub-suppliers have been informed with regard to the importance and conversion of the decree. Mid 2005 already we were able to inform our customers about the success and measures showing the way to the subject RoHS:
 

• We offer the process “chemical-nickel” in conformity with RoHS.
• The processes “chromating colourless respectively yellow“ are replaced
  to 100% by the processes in conformity to Alodine 400 (colourless)
  respectively Alodine 160 (yellowish).
• The processes “tin-lead (90:10) has been replaced by non-leaded tinning.

 
“Olive and black galvanizing” are and remain difficult. According to statements of our galvanic factories in the foreseeable future we will not able to offer reasonable solutions in these cases. We therefore suggest a change to “blue galvanizing” or a general change of the material.
