HAKAMA - a Success Story

HAKAMA was founded on April 1, 1956.

 

The first location was in CH-4115 Mariastein.

 

Today the domicile of the enterprise is in CH-4112 Bättwil - 9 km air-line away from Basel and 200 m from the French border.

 

The name HAKAMA is put together of three components, the initials of the founding families and the founding location: HAberthür KAsper MAriastein.

 

Today the company is run from the second generation - Marius Haberthür and Fritz Kasper. 

Milestones in the History of HAKAMA

2010

INDUS Holding AG Logo

Retroactively to January 1st, 2010 INDUS Holding AG from Germany acquired 60% of HAKAMA AG. At the same time INDUS obtained an option to acquire the remaining 40% of the shares at a later time. Marius Haberthür and Fritz Kasper remain as Managing Directors with a stake of 40%.

2009

HAKAMA Engineering Schild

HAKAMA Engineering moves into its own office building and is from now available at the following address

2008

Most successful fiscal year in the history of the company.

2007

The second automated laser-punching center has been set-up.

2006

Just in time for 50th anniversary the new industrial building "Le Cargo" with the first laser-punching center, including high-bay storage has been inaugurated.

2005

5th re-certification of the process oriented management system according to ISO 9001:2000 including the occupational safety system FCOS.

2003

Planning of the next extension of the production building: At the end of the Expo.02 the operator Arteplage Neuchâtel sold us the concert and event hall Théâtre 800 “Le Cargo”. 

 

We plan to build the Cargo hall behind the existing production building. From mid 2006 the new hall will accommodate the entire laser technology (laser and punching tools) including loading, unloading and high rack storage.

2000 - 01

HAKAMA grows with the boom in telecommunications: Adaptation of the production to islands of machine tools and enterprise working in several shifts. Enormous increase in capacity:
9 CNC stamping machines are in operation in shift system.

 

Putting into operation a new manufacturing building with 3 floors with 1’300m2 additional effective area next to the existing production building. Acquisition of additional commercial area within the strategic planning.

1999

Strengthening of the competitiveness on the European market: HAKAMA obtains as one of the first Swiss supply enterprises the status of an intra-German respectively EU supplier.

1998

Opening an sales office in Mahlberg, southern Germany.

1997

Developing the new business unit "Engineering".

1996

First participation at the Hanover trade fair. 

1995

Acquisition of the neighboring property Mühlemattstrasse 17 in CH-4112 Bättwil, purchase of additional undeveloped site of 3'500 m2.

1993

First successful certification of the
quality management according to ISO 9002.

1989

Hauptsitz HAKAMA AG: Bürogebäude

Move into the new office and production building in CH-4112 Bättwil, with a ground plan reminding someone of a stamped sheet form.

1988

HAKAMA presents itself for the first time at a trade fair – the SWISSTECH in Basel.

1982

New office extension in Mariastein, SO.

1980

Second extension of the production building in Mariastein.

1979

Introduction of CNC technology in the form of a CNC automatic punching machine.

1978

First extension of the production building in Mariastein.

1971

was a significant year in multiple respects: Change of the partnership association Haberthür & Kasper to HAKAMA Joint Stock Company.

 

The aspiring pharmaceutical industry as well as the new infinite area of electronics determined increasingly the course of HAKAMA. 

 

At the same time there was the alternation of generations concerning the lead of the enterprise: Marius Haberthür and Fritz Kasper faced the new challenges vigorously with a clear entrepreneurial concept.

Foundation of the partnership association Haberthür & Kasper.

The prime movers Othmar Haberthür and Ernst Kasper laid the foundations of the success with their metal pressuring plant, mainly for lighting fixtures and home appliances.

Aikido-Kämpfer mit Hakama

Kendo and Aikido are traditional Japanese fighting sports. The pantaloons of the Kendoka (fighter) are called HAKAMA (trousers). The HAKAMA protects and hides the position of the feet of the kendoka during the competition.
